Job Description Summary

The Lead, Aftermarket Project Management is responsible for setting both strategic and tactical goals and direction for the traditional aftermarket. As the aftermarket sales leader within the Driveline Business Unit this position works with the North American plants in both US and Mexico to meet the sales goals objectives and overall success of the program.
The aftermarket program manager will partner with the Sr. Manager of Sales & Aftermarket to develop the sales goals, the tactical plans, the budget, and the operational policies.

Job Description

  • Develop the go-to-market strategy for AAM’s aftermarket business plan.
  • Define the program tactical plans to increase sales and ensure profitability.
  • Manage the life cycle of the product offering and product mix.
  • Ensure the proper development and distribution of digital assets.
  • Support channel strategy with an emphasis on:
    • Value Proposition (price + feature/benefits)
    • Communications - product solicitation to target customer(s)
    • Online sales channels
  • Work cross functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Purchasing/Procurement, Engineering, Logistics, Plants to manage the profitability of the program.
  • Analyze market for growth potential, explore/identify new market requirements and opportunities.
  • Hire staff and manage training, performance, coaching and motivation.
  • Provide market expertise to various projects, stakeholders, negotiations, and other discussions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or above, a plus
  • 5-10 years of experience in Automotive Industry and/or 3-5 years in management.
  • Strong digital marketing experience and customer-direct communication
  • Knowledge of brand strategies and ability to comprehend and create action plans that deliver growth.
  • Strong data analysis skills and financial acumen
  • Experience with aftermarket product categories for Pick-ups and SUVs
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills
