Position Summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) is one of the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the United States. Owned by Samsung Electronics Corporation Ltd., SAS is the only semiconductor manufacturing plant located outside of Korea. SAS manufactures logic components for digital services, personal computers, mobile phones, workstations and servers. Since 1997, SAS has been at the forefront of manufacturing technology, enabling the world's digital devices to operate at the highest performance.

The Infra Tech Construction team is focused on code compliance, safety, and system performance for new construction, remodel construction, and sustaining operation evaluation of existing facilities. As part of the ITC Department, you will provide support by managing site consultant design team to develop, review and approve SAS site I&C specifications and design packages for commercial/process systems. As well as, manage construction general contractor activities related to new and retrofit construction.

Role and Responsibilities

• Member of the Facilities Innovation Team.
• Collaborates with multiple departments in order to determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints.
• Demonstrates creativity while relying on instructions and pre-established guidelines to capital management functions.
• Team player who works with engineering and operations staff to create comprehensive scope solutions to achieve strategic company goals.
• Administers the annual capital investment process for the Facilities department.
• Analyze ROI and financial impact of investment requests to prioritize funding across 3 and 5 year plans.
• Track and report requests, approval, funding and execution status of capital investment projects.
• Manage tasks force teams comprised of multiple departments. Set agendas, review current status, assign team action items that are tracked through completion.
• Presentation of investment plans and status to executive management.
• Compares subcontractor proposals with required project scope, determine proposal completeness, and assembles all proposal files in preparation of the investment requests.
• Creates methods for comparing relative merit of investment options, with suggestion to management for best option to proceed.
• Develops risk assessment for constructability issues for scopes of work required and requested.
• Manage and control purchase order creation requests and actual spending compared to remaining available budget.
• Creates spend plans for the department and tracks performance to plan through project completion.
• Updates monthly spend forecasts based on project performance.
• Read & understands scope solutions to ensure all costs are calculated correctly.
• Manages stakeholders in a customer-service oriented.
• Work days and hours: M-F, 1st Shift.

Skills and Qualifications

• Develops professional expertise by complying with company policies and procedures

• Works on problems of moderate scope where analyzing situations or data requires a review on various factors

• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action

• Normally receives general instructions on routine work with detailed instructions on new projects or assignments

• Generally requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum 2 years related experience, or advanced degree without experience
