Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Adheres to Integer’s Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
General
- Adopt new methods and systems of work to continually improve the operational availability of equipment and the cost of maintenance, such as those required under the AMIS programs.
- Establishes Maintenance Department technical proficiency in Integer’s manufacturing processes and equipment in order to provide competent technical support and training to Maintenance and Production personnel. Equipment comprises:
- General Industrial Automation and PLCs
- Medical Device Assembly Fixtures
- Medical Coating and Curing Systems
- Low Power Industrial Laser Welders
- Adhesive Dispensing and UV Cure Systems
- CNC Machining & Swiss Machines
- Fine Wire Straightening and Coiling Machines
- Other General Assembly Equipment
- Participates in cross-functional teams, where required, to address specific production or project goals to include TPM and Lean Manufacturing.
- Fosters good working relationships with the Production, Engineering and Facilities Departments to ensure that equipment is maintained, repaired and sustained for validated production of medical products.
- Contributes to the building, commissioning and introduction of new equipment to production.
- Assists management in all tasks as requested, including preparation of department presentation material. Observes the requirements of the Trade Secret policy.
- On occasions, provides support to the Facilities Maintenance Department in the event of emergencies or exceptional tasks.
- Serves as back up to Maintenance Department Associates during absences or unavailability to cover critical tasks.
Supervision
- Handles all matters with appropriate tact and confidentiality including salary discussions, promotions, demotions, trade secret technologies, etc.
- Assigns and schedules day to day work in the most efficient way possible; closely monitors Associates’ attendance and addresses concerns promptly
- Keeps the operation of the team under review in response to changing circumstances and identify bottlenecks or opportunities and recommend new arrangements.
Staff Development & Training
- Trains all staff in how to complete and record PMs and other documents in an
FDA regulated environment. - Trains and ensures maintenance personnel can use the PMC System to provide suitable reports from the asset and part history for completing work orders as well as for use in analyzing, troubleshooting and rectifying root causes of machine problems, using standardized methods and industry best practices.
- Responsible for on-the-job technical instruction, as well as recommending, developing, and implementing training programs as the occasion demands.
- Trains all staff in structured problem-solving methods to be proficient in analyzing, troubleshooting and rectifying root causes of machine problems, using standardized methods and industry best practices.
Continuous Improvement
- Take the lead on projects to implement the recommendations of AMIS assessments and achieve other goals.
- Support the updating and revision of maintenance manuals, PM procedures, and the Maintenance Master Ledger to improve operational availability of equipment and reduce the cost of maintenance.
Operational Availability
- Measures equipment Operational Availability, Mean Time between Failure and Mean Time to Repair at asset level. Using this information, prioritize and assign project work to identify and eliminate root causes to continually improve these key performance indicators.
- Reviews and updates PM content and frequency to ensure MTBF is kept within agreed limits.
- Regularly review MTTR and take measures to ensure waiting time and on-the-job repair time is minimized.
- Use the PMC CMMS System to ensure that an adequate range of spare parts is available at all times.
Compliance
- Perform regular reviews to ensure PM and Core Training records are up to date, accurate and are available for both internal and external audits.

Education & Experience:
- Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering or technical field preferred.
- Minimum Experience:
- Five or more years of supervisory experience along with eight or more year’s maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Three or more years of experience working in regulated industries such as the medical device, aerospace/defense or food production.
- Three or more years of experience with leading teams utilizing computerized maintenance management CMMS systems.
