The Risk Controls and Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting the effective operation of Berkadia’s enterprise-wide Compliance program, including Production Compliance and Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM). This role ensures that the enterprise adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies, while also enhancing the overall compliance effectiveness through process improvements and strategic initiatives.

We Innovate to shape the future of CRE, so in this role you will:

  • Monitor and support compliance with GSE guidelines, collaborate with internal audit, and maintain records.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on GSE regulations and Berkadia policies, reviewing business proposals for regulatory compliance.
  • Support annual assessments/reporting to Lenders, due diligence reviews, and assist with compliance tool implementation.
  • Develop and implement Berkadia’s TPRM program, conducting due diligence on third-party vendors and monitoring their performance.
  • Maintain documentation of third-party relationships, stay updated on industry practices, and adjust the risk management framework as needed.
  • Develop vendor risk awareness and training programs, oversee the TPM lifecycle, and maintain TPRM policies and procedure

We are passionate about your growth, so to achieve success in this role you should have: 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the mortgage industry, risk management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Independent, self-starter with strong critical thinking skills, motivation, and the ability to understand broader business issues.
  • Well-organized, action-oriented team player with the ability to prioritize daily work, work on multiple initiatives simultaneously, and deliver solutions.
  • Proficient in intermediate to advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and conditional formatting, with experience delivering data-driven solutions.
  • Experience driving cross-functional initiatives with a working knowledge of project management practices and governance, and a working knowledge of Third-Party Risk Management principles and processes and/or GSE regulations, loan programs, and production requirements.
