Posting Title:  Internship: Computational Immunology Intern, Italy, 2026

Education required: 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:

  • Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biotechnology or related fields

Other requirements: 

  • Similar scientific fields (Biological background is strongly preferred);

  • Strong interest in research and applied science

  • Programming skills, especially Python

  • Interest in AI, machine learning, and data‑driven research

  • Understanding of biological systems (immunology, biology, or similar)

  • Attention to data quality and validation

  • Curiosity, motivation, and willingness to learn

  • Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in Italian and English

Expected Start date: April 2026

Internship period: 6 months (renewable)

What will you do?

  • Search for public scientific datasets related to antibodies and immunology

  • Collect antibody and B‑cell receptor (BCR) sequencing dat

  • Validate, clean, and check the quality of biological experimental data

  • Organize data into structured and reusable datasets

  • Use R/Python to analyze biological and sequence data

  • Apply computational approaches to study antibody–antigen interactions

  • Explore patterns linking sequences to immunological function

  • Support applied research activities in immunology and AI/ML

  • Document methods and results clearly for R&D use

What will you learn?  

  • How computational methods are used in immunology research

  • How to assess and improve data quality in scientific datasets

  • How antibody and immune‑receptor data are generated and interpreted

  • Basics of AI and machine‑learning applications in biomedical research

  • How Python is used for real R&D data analysis
