Job Description

The Team

Our real estate lawyers act for clients across the full range of real estate matters including direct and indirect investment transactions, large scale development projects, investment structuring, portfolio deals, corporate occupier matters, and real estate financing. We work across all sectors including offices, logistics, leisure, hotels, renewable energy and residential (PBSA, PRS and social housing).

The Role

As an Associate within Norton Rose Fulbright's London real estate practice, you play an integral role in supporting the team's efforts in navigating the intricacies of commercial property transactions and providing essential legal advice to clients. This position requires a solid foundation in UK real estate law and a keen awareness of market dynamics within London. Associates within the team take on a variety of roles including legal research, due diligence,  drafting and negotiating documents, participating in negotiations and client meetings and running transactions. Associates are also required to participate in business development activities of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various real estate documents, including leases, sale and purchase agreements and certificates of title taking account of the client’s objectives.
  • Offer strategic and commercial advice to clients navigating real estate matters.
  • Conduct due diligence, analyse legal risk and regulatory requirements to protect client interests.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships, understanding their needs, and delivering tailored legal solutions aligned with their business objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated legal services covering all aspects of real estate law, ensuring optimal outcomes for clients.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Between 2-4 PQE with relevant Real Estate experience from a leading firm.
  • Driven and ambitious
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of technical understanding and skill
  • Excellent academics
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills
