Job Title: CNC and Saw Team Leader

Department: Production

Reports to: Operation's Manager

Position Summary

The CNC & Saw Department Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations related to cutting MDF materials for cabinet kits. This role ensures all parts are produced accurately to specifications, equipment is properly maintained, and production goals are achieved while meeting quality and safety standards. The Team Lead provides training and support to team members, coordinates workflow, and serves as the primary point of contact for material, equipment, and process issues.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily operations of the CNC and saw department to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Verify all MDF panels are cut properly to meet required specifications.

Ensure all raw materials are stocked and organized to prevent production delays.

Monitor and enforce safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.

Conduct quality checks to ensure all parts meet dimensional and quality standards.

Oversee packaging and staging of cut parts for downstream departments.

Track and monitor build schedules to ensure deadlines and production goals are met.

Train and mentor team members, verifying proper use of equipment and adherence to procedures.

Identify equipment issues or failures and report promptly to maintenance for resolution.

Maintain accurate communication with the Area Coordinator regarding defects, damages, or material shortages.

Provide hands-on support to the team to ensure workflow continuity.

Coordinate with downstream departments (edge band, frame build, assembly) to ensure parts are delivered on time.

Qualifications & Skills

Prior experience with CNC machinery, saw operations, or woodworking equipment required.

Leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Strong knowledge of MDF material handling and cutting processes.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, production documents, and measurements.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Basic mechanical knowledge to identify and report equipment issues.

Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials up to 50 lbs for extended periods.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial manufacturing environment.
