JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Demand Planning Specialist! In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Develop accurate demand-based sales forecasts for all products.

  • Support the Commercial Services Manager (CSM) in Italy to ensure the successful delivery of the Monthly S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process.

  • Act as a key contact for the Demand S&OP Manager of the Region.

Your forecasts, developed using advanced models and statistical analysis, will drive our Annual Plan, sales planning, production planning, and capital investment planning. You'll play a crucial role in linking S&OP, LBE, and actual results, continuously proposing and developing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the CSM, you will:

  • Coordinate and analyze the Monthly S&OP, including KPIs, gap analysis, and market trends.

  • Facilitate communication with cross-functional management regarding product sales forecasts and availability.

  • Monitor sales and forecast performance to identify and communicate trends.

  • Manage demand planning, forecasting accuracy, and new product supply.

  • Develop contingency plans for demand changes and transition strategies for product launches and transitions.

  • Analyze business progress and share insights with the CSM and other functions.

  • Consolidate key topics for monthly discussions and action items.

  • Investigate exceptions (e.g., abnormal demand, supply issues) and provide timely analysis for inventory management.

  • Facilitate gap analysis of demand results versus financial forecasts.

  • Communicate timely Affiliate Demand Reports to the Area for key issues.

  • Ensure data integrity in all related systems.

  • Participate in policy and procedure development for demand management, safety stock, delivery time, and time fences.

  • Establish models, databases, and procedures for data assimilation and reporting.

  • Build balanced demand plans to ensure timely product availability and optimal stock levels.

  • Collaborate with Finance to establish yearly investment and saving plans.

  • Build strong partnerships with Marketing, Sales, and Finance to optimize demand plans.

  • Manage inventory reporting in BPCS/SAP APO.

  • Act in full compliance with local laws, Abbott policies, and legal procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience in Demand Planning and Finance is desirable.

  • Knowledge of supply and demand practices and tools like BPCS, SAP APO.

  • Proficient in analytical tools (e.g., Excel, Access, R, SQL).

  • Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent negotiation skills to build sustainable partnerships.

  • High learning agility and leadership ability.

  • Ability to build company dashboards.

  • Strong team player and networker.

  • Open to innovation and prototyping new solutions.

  • Fluent in English.
