About The Position
The Capital Planning & Governance Specialist position is responsible for supporting oversight of capital project related business analysis activities and governance occurring field operations and related technical departments across the Ameren Missouri business segment.
Key responsibilities include:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University required. Two or more years of relevant professional experience required (e.g. accounting, financial reporting, analysis or modeling, and business planning). A degree in the following fields is preferred: Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's of Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, other financial/business discipline, Engineering, etc.) may be considered in lieu of relevant experience. Relevant certifications are a plus (CPA, CFA).

Five or more years of relevant professional experience required (e.g. accounting, financial reporting, analysis or modeling, and business planning). A degree in the following fields is preferred: Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's of Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, other financial/business discipline, Engineering, etc.) may be considered with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Relevant certifications are a plus (CPA, CFA).

Strategic Focus - Big picture thinking with an inquisitive, business-oriented, entrepreneurial, and creative mindset required. Strong Verbal Communication Skills – Must demonstrate ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with senior leaders (e.g. Directors and Vice Presidents). Self-starter, comfortable working in a busy and dynamic environment with competing priorities. Strong Prioritization Skills – Frequent ad-hoc requests require the ability to prioritize and deliver products in a timely manner. Strong Analytical Skills – Candidate must be an analytical thinker with the ability to analyze, break down/aggregate and format large amounts of data to support decision making and communications. Continuous Improvement Focus – Must maintain a continuous improvement/lean mindset. Supports cultural change by leveraging a thorough business and technical knowledge, change management and/or continuous improvement techniques, and a forward-thinking mindset. Ability to influence, advocate and lead change required.
Business Program Skills – In addition to above, advance skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Knowledge of Oracle based systems (e.g., Power BI) is preferred.

Compensation Range:
$71,100.00 - $137,200.00* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant’s credentials.
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
