The Manager of Product Management is responsible for leading product development efforts across multiple technology platforms intended to solve critical pain points for both our customers and our associates.  They deeply understand the organization’s business model, how their assigned products impact the day-to-day operations, and work with functional leaders to identify opportunities to evolve, transform, and optimize both.  They also understand the competitive landscape of their products as well as their relative position among the pack.  The Manager has the unique responsibility to span all functional areas of the company to ensure our technology platforms are providing the right level of support for successful business operations.  This includes, leasing, marketing, maintenance, payments, recruiting, branding, legal, compliance, investments, and investor relations.  They lead product development teams to build the right solution at the right time while balancing cost, risk, speed, intuition, and future need. 

What You’ll Do

  • Prioritize product efforts informed by customer research and available analytics, and build consensus among stakeholders to optimize experiences for our customers and create efficiencies for our associates

  • Partner with the UX/UI team to deliver design artifacts which meet our established standards and goals

  • Partner with the engineering leads to gain a high-level understanding of the technology integrations that enable the customer- and associate-facing functions across multiple platforms

  • Build strong working knowledge of the systems and operational processes in the IH landscape that may be impacted with each new product development effort

  • Establish and constantly foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and senior leadership to ensure clear and direct communication around current and future product efforts

  • Effectively manage the scope of approved efforts, mitigate delivery risks where possible, and negotiate delivery trade-offs as needed when priorities change

  • Partner with 3rd party vendors where appropriate to commission, prioritize and manage delivery efforts

  • Partner with legal, risk, and security teams to ensure compliance-related items meet established standards

  • Work with data analysts to create and implement success metrics for each new effort, continuously monitor product performance throughout its lifecycle, and be willing to decommission those that no longer provide notable value or support corporate priorities

  • Keep a pulse on the competitive and vendor landscape and identify opportunities and strategies to drive business results

  • Participate in solutioning; articulate your ideas through wireframes/sketches and research best-in-class solutions

  • Constantly prioritize user stories; balance feature development, defects, and tech debt according to business need

  • Enable sprint progress; clarify story details, validate completed stories, and prepare stories for the next sprint

  • Generate release and knowledge base documentation and partner on field training activities

  • Cooperate with the support team to investigate and resolve product defects

  • Ensure prompt resolution for technical and business issues

Who We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in a product management role

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in real estate, travel, or retail preferred

  • Lean & Rapid Experimentation expertise preferred

  • Experience being the owner of one or more software products, with a track record of successful releases and updates

  • Strong business and technical acumen

  • Agile/Scrum mindset and expertise

  • Ability to communicate complex information in simple terms to a wide variety of audiences

  • Strong written and oral communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively

  • Ability to negotiate without being adversarial

  • Ability to effectively communicate and partner with executives and senior-level leaders

  • Ability to lead projects across multiple teams and stakeholders through organization, collaboration, and charisma

  • Empathy for the customer and associate experiences as an equal footing input to prioritization

  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

  • Excellent teamwork skills; strong ability to motivate engineering teams and foster creativity

  • Excellent ability to manage expectations while making others feel heard and respected

  • Willing to go above and beyond while taking ownership of needs that exist

  • Serve as a problem-solver and embrace change

Salary Range

$98,640.00 - $170,976.00
