About the Role  

The Associate Strategy Director is a highly skilled strategist and emerging leader within the agency, working closely with the Head of Strategy to develop and execute impactful brand and communication strategies. Crucially, you possess a strong point of view on creative excellence, using it to shape and elevate the creative work produced by the agency. You will independently lead strategic planning for designated clients, contribute to new business efforts, and mentor junior strategists. This role offers a unique opportunity to hone your leadership skills, develop your strategic vision, and contribute to the growth of both our clients and the agency.

What You’ll Do 

Client Management

  • Build strong relationships with clients, acting as a strategic partner and advisor.
  • Manage client expectations, project timelines, and budgets effectively.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to expand the scope of client engagements.

Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic plans for assigned clients.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and consumer insights gathering.
  • Develop brand positioning, messaging, and communication strategies.
  • Lead or significantly contribute to new business pitches, demonstrating strategic thinking and innovative approaches.
  • Mentor and guide junior strategists, providing feedback and support on their work.

Creative Leadership

    • Collaborate with creative teams to develop impactful and innovative campaigns, bringing your own distinct creative perspective to the table.
    • Provide clear and insightful creative briefs that inspire and guide the creative process.
    • Ensure strategic alignment throughout the creative process, pushing for work that is both strategically sound and creatively exceptional.
    • Champion creative excellence within the agency, actively seeking opportunities to elevate the quality and impact of our creative output.
    • Provide constructive feedback to creative teams, helping them to refine and strengthen their ideas.

Leadership & People Management

      • Actively participate in the development and growth of junior strategists.
      • Provide regular feedback and coaching.
      • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Development & Growth

Progression to Strategy Director is based on demonstrated leadership capabilities, consistent delivery of exceptional strategic work, successful mentorship of junior team members, and a proven ability to contribute to agency growth. Success in this role will be measured by contribution to business & brand health, client engagement, pitch win rate, 360 feedback, awards, and more.
