GENERAL FUNCTION:

Supports data analytics needs within the assigned organization.  Utilizes data analysis competencies and business knowledge to help identify, quantify, assess, and support  business objectives using data from a variety of sources.  Responsible for developing reporting, analytics, metrics, and key performance indicators while also providing value-added analysis and recommendations to support business goals.

Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, metrics, KPIs, and data visualizations to support business needs and facilitate data-driven decision-making.

  • Develop/strengthen business knowledge to support data analytics product development–  including understanding the financial needs of businesses and the complete sales lifecycle through servicing and relationship management

  • Support data analytic engagements, including help scoping the initiative, identifying/requesting access to data/tools, testing, documenting, and delivering.

  • Responsible for manipulating large data files and transforming the data into business information that helps fulfill strategic objectives.

  • Assist in the creation, automation, and publishing of new and existing ad-hoc reports.

  • Assist in continuous monitoring of operational metrics.

  • Assist in the development of solutions and recommendations for improving data integrity issues.

  • Provides feedback and coaching to other data analysts.

  • Independently research industry best practices for Data Analytics.

  • Self-drive continued data analytic learning.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather requirements, understand business objectives, and define reporting and analytics needs.

  • Develop familiarity with regulations that impact the organization.

  • Develop familiarity with risk as it applies to the organization’s analytics: credit risk, market risk, operational risk, liquidity risk, climate risk, reputational risk, cyber risk, regulatory risk, and strategic risk.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.    

  • Typically, minimum 2-4 years of experience in data analysis, tools, and languages such as SQL, SAS, R, Python, Tableau, Excel, or Power BI.

  • Typically, minimum 2-4 years of experience in banking, financial services, or similar.

  • Experience performing data discovery techniques such as exploring system tables and identifying necessary data.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present technical results and their business impact.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills while working within teams, maintaining professional composure.

  • Results and goal orientated.  Self-starter with ability to adjust multiple demands and changing priorities.

  • Ability to apply analytical thinking, maintain objectivity in all aspects of position, and apply problem solving to develop business solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and understand data applications and business intelligence/database tools.

  • Analytical ability to delve into detail while maintaining a broader business perspective on issues.

  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and an ability to apply logical/critical thought processes when developing solutions.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and other related applications.

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
