Registered Nurse – Acute Care & Emergency Department
Location: Logan Health – Shelby | Shelby, Montana

We’re currently hiring a full-time Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, compassionate care across inpatient acute care and our 24/7 emergency department.

This role is ideal for RNs who thrive in a collaborative, rural healthcare setting where every day brings variety, autonomy, and the ability to make a true difference in the lives of patients and their families.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver comprehensive RN care to acute care, emergency, and swing bed patients
• Respond to a wide range of medical conditions including COPD, pneumonia, UTIs, weakness, and trauma cases
• Support pre- and post-operative care in coordination with surgical services (no OR responsibilities)
• Triage and manage emergency cases with the support of available medical providers
• Collaborate with an experienced team including CNAs, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists

Facility Highlights:

• Critical access hospital with full emergency services, ICU, birthing room, and OR
• Additional services include diagnostics (CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound), physical and occupational therapy, and comprehensive lab services

Schedule & Support:

• Shifts: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Weekend Rotation: Typically every other weekend (may vary)
• No call required
• Support includes CNA/HUC, M-F respiratory therapy, M-F phlebotomy, and remote-access hospitalist
• Collaborative, upbeat culture where teamwork is essential

What You Bring:

• Current Montana RN license
• BLS and ACLS required; TNCC, NRP, and PALS preferred
• Strong IV skills, triage experience, wound care, and ability to assist with splinting and casting preferred
• Comfort working across multiple care settings in a rural hospital

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally, they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours, offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs. Pay rates and scheduling practices may vary by department.
