Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is seeking a Manufacturing Analyst or Principal Manufacturing Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
The position requires on-site support in Palmdale, CA Center of Excellence where technology and teamwork come together. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Advanced Automation/Tooling organization working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.
Manufacturing Analyst job duties involve the following:
We seek Manufacturing Analysts that use a unique skill set that includes a hands-on approach and act as the business focal point for management of advanced automation engineering projects within the Aerospace Sector
Assists automation engineers in the planning and coordination of integrated assembly line (IAL) equipment projects including transition-to-production, sustainment, upgrades and improvements
Utilizes EVM (Earned Value Management) methodologies to analyze and track project financial, cost and scope metrics as well as the optimization and improvement of program and operational performance
Supports production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment
Performs activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including finance, purchasing and program management, automation engineering, production planning, continuous improvement, material management, process optimization and liaison
Develops and implements financial and project plans that ensure the timely development and integration of sustaining and upgrade projects to support IAL automation systems and program deliverables to meet stakeholder scope, cost and schedule milestones and deliverables
Interacts with internal and external customers with respect to advanced automation projects related to production sustainment, and process improvement
Coordination with NGC stakeholders will be essential in this role as well as communication with suppliers to ensure project meets schedule, cost and quality requirements
Strong organizational skills are needed as well as experience in managing a variety of work statements within the manufacturing environment
Note: This position can be filled with a Manufacturing Analyst or a Principal Manufacturing Analyst level.
Basic Qualifications for Manufacturing Analyst (Level 2):
Bachelor’s Degree with (2) years of work experience in manufacturing or administrative work or a Master’s Degree with (0) years of experience
Experience in supporting manufacturing / production / business operations with an understanding of processes and setting up procedures
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency in data analysis and gathering data from different sources
Knowledge in SAP/MES/Teamcenter
Must have the ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, Engineering, and Production
Experience supporting project tracking
Experience supporting production, business, and other processes in a team-based environment
Ability to work for extended periods of time at a workstation on a computer or similar device for up to 10 hours / duration of shift. Occasional extended periods of standing, bending, kneeling
Ability to work 1st shift "5:00am-3:30pm" and any work schedule (times may vary)
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Ability to travel at least 10%

Bachelor’s Degree with (5) years of work experience in manufacturing or administrative work or a Master’s Degree with (3) years of experience in manufacturing or administrative work or PhD with 0 years of experience
Experience in supporting manufacturing / production / business operations with an understanding of processes and setting up procedures
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency in data analysis and gathering data from different sources

Manage multiple projects concurrently in meeting customer requirements / expectations
Experience in Return of Investment (ROI) analysis and justifications
Project management skills (proposal creation, scheduling, budget tracking)
Experience in using Microsoft Office Project, Visio, SharePoint
Knowledge with Manufacturing Execution System and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
