  • Drive a safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental requirements.
  • Conduct shift meetings, communicate production priorities, monitor progress, and respond effectively to operational challenges.
  • Utilize mechanical aptitude and technical expertise to troubleshoot automated production equipment, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Make process and machine adjustments as needed to improve equipment performance, minimize downtime, and maximize efficiency.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and production performance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including safety, productivity, downtime, waste, scrap, quality, labor utilization, and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Support root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions for safety, quality, and operational issues.
  • Maintain production reporting, run sheets, line boards, and shift documentation to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Work closely with Shipping and Warehouse teams to support customer delivery requirements.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees to improve performance, engagement, and career growth.
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding attendance, performance management, employee relations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Effectively manage employee relations within a unionized workforce while ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience leading employees in a unionized manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience in plastics manufacturing, blow molding, injection molding, packaging, or similar automated production operations strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting automated production equipment and making process adjustments to improve operational performance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience monitoring and improving production KPIs and operational metrics.
