We are seeking a motivated and technically strong Packaging Engineer to provide packaging technical support and process development for sterile and non-sterile medical device packaging operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of standardized packaging and labeling processes, supporting design transfer activities, ensuring process readiness, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will work both independently and cross-functionally to perform packaging and equipment testing, resolve complex process issues, and implement sustainable improvements within a regulated quality system.

You will ensure compliance with applicable industry standards for sterile and non-sterile medical device packaging, including ISO 11607 and ISO 16775.

This position serves as on-site Packaging Engineering support, collaborating closely with local leadership, production teams, and global packaging stakeholders.

What will you be doing?

  • 30% – Packaging Support for Design Transfer Projects
    Support packaging design transfer activities to ensure process readiness, validation, and smooth product launch.

  • 20% – Process Development & Continuous Improvement
    Develop and improve packaging processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance.

  • 15% – Capital Equipment Projects
    Support new packaging equipment initiatives including specification, purchasing, development, validation, and implementation.

  • 15% – Sustain Packaging Process Performance & Compliance
    Monitor and maintain validated state, process capability, and regulatory compliance of existing packaging operations.

  • 10% – Production Floor Support
    Provide hands-on technical support for packaging operations, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

  • 10% – Change Control Management
    Manage packaging-related change controls for components, materials, documentation, and processes.

What will you need to be succesful?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Packaging, or related Engineering discipline

  • 2 - 5 years’ work experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and build productive relationships with others in order to achieve desired results. 

  • Ability to manage projects and teams effectively, provide team leadership, and able to provide advice/coaching to others around best practices.  

  • Requires proficiency using PC applications including Microsoft Word, Minitab, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, and Excel. 

  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in-writing in both English and local languages. 

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., sit for extended periods of time at a desk, or stand for extended periods while performing testing activities or floor support.
