Job Description:

SUMMARY: 
    
Responsible for properly executing security duties on assigned shift to adequately protect the life and property of customers, team members and the company’s property.  
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

•    Interacts effectively with the public and team members. Performs excellent customer service at all times, providing positive greetings and farewells and opening doors for guests as necessary.

•    Patrols all lots around the casino property and any assigned designated areas while on a bicycle.

•    Performs the regular duties of the Security Officer while not on Bike Patrol.

•    Guards all transfers of monies and chips on the casino floor as well as the physical transportation of chip fills and credits.

•    Generates necessary written reports regarding security-related incidents involving guests, team members and/or the facility.

•    Escorts and observes guests and team members to ensure their safety and protection; identifies potential safety hazards and report same to the appropriate individual for proper resolution.

•    Becomes familiar with hazardous materials used on property and all applicable laws, rules and regulations governing same.

•    Acts as a Dispatcher during emergency situations and coordinates solutions to same; informs Dispatcher of any unusual or suspicious situations on property.

•    Operates company vehicles as directed to do so.

•    Maintains a working knowledge of the Company’s facilities as well as special events on property in order to advise guests and fellow team members of same whenever possible.
    
•    Interacts with guests and team members in a positive, professional manner.

•    Ensures a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction throughout the property is achieved and maintained.

•    Facilitates the flow of information by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.

•    Maintains a series of keys, accessing locked areas as necessary.


•    Accepts identification from all persons who appear to be under the legal age to ensure compliance with state and federal gaming regulations.

•    Assists with traffic flow.

•    Maintains a consistent, regular attendance record.

•    Performs any reasonable request made by management. 

•    May be used as an usher as needed by management for events.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
    High School diploma or GED required.

    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of one-year experience in law enforcement or gaming security preferred. Excellent communication skills required.  Valid driver’s license required.

Bike Patrol Security Officers may be required to pass a physical health screening, a training course, and a physical test.  The Training course will include basic need-to-know skills. 

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests and other team members of the organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations.  Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear. The team member is also regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.  The team member is frequently required to sit and is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The team member must have the ability to ride a bike for extended periods of time.  

The team member is regularly required to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to one hundred pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The Bike Patrol is a year-round position and the team member is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.  When severe weather occurs, such as excessive heat, snow, fog or icy conditions, Bike Patrol Officers will report to the Sergeant on duty for further instructions.  

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud.   The team member is exposed to a smoke-filled environment when on the casino floor.
