Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves designing and developing tailored software components that integrate seamlessly within larger systems or applications. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead efforts to identify and implement process improvements that enhance team productivity and software quality.
- Mentor junior team members to support their professional growth and integration within project workflows.
Professional & Technical Skills:
-Practical experience in SAP HCM Payroll for Germany (PY-DE) in implementation, rollout, or support scenarios.
Good understanding of German payroll schemas and PCRs, with hands-on exposure to reading, adjusting, and enhancing existing schemas and rules.
- Ability to support payroll customization activities, including wage type configuration, basic schema adjustments, and country-specific settings.
- Experience with payroll runs, simulations, and basic troubleshooting using standard SAP payroll tools (e.g. payroll log, test runs).
- Familiarity with retroactive accounting and common payroll scenarios in German payroll environments.
German Payroll Functional & Legal Knowledge:
- Solid functional understanding of German payroll legislation, including: Income tax (Lohnsteuer), solidarity surcharge, church tax, social security contributions and contribution ceilings
- Awareness of key German statutory processes, such as: ELStAM, DE V notifications, social insurance reporting
- Ability to follow and implement legal changes and payroll updates with guidance, ensuring compliance with German regulations.
Adobe Forms Builder – Payslip Design:
- Practical experience with Adobe Forms Builder as the technical foundation for SAP HCM payslips.
- Ability to create, adjust, and maintain Adobe-based payroll forms, including layout changes, text adjustments, and field bindings.
- Understanding of the interaction between SAP payroll data structures and Adobe Forms.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 7.5 years of experience in SAP HCM Payroll.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
