Position Summary
The Product Specialist supports the development and day-to-day management of assigned product lines by working closely with cross-functional teams. This role assists with product development, gathers customer feedback, and helps support products throughout their life cycle. The Product Specialist builds strong product knowledge and supports sales and customer-facing teams through training materials, meetings, and ongoing product support. The role also serves as the Canadian product resource, helping support brand consistency and acting as a key point of contact across teams.
Position Responsibilities
Supports new product development through all cross-functional disciplines using the stage gate process.
Assists with Voice of the Customer interviews and integrates end-user requirements within the development process.
Supports and executes strategies to manage the overall health of existing product lines and product categories.
Understands brand positions and identify opportunities to build brand equity.
Develops and maintains product expertise and leadership to both internal and external customers.
Manages overall product life cycle from inception to obsolescence, including data from external sources/market trends, adapting to plans accordingly.
Provides ongoing sales support for product lines through sales training, customer meetings, customer service support, and the development of effective training materials.
Travel up to 20%

Knowledge and Experience
Minimum 1-3 years combined in a product/category management, channel, brand management, and/or sales role.
Proven ability to create innovative and strategic programs and execute.
Ability to demonstrate consistent ability to meet objectives on time and within budget.
Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills; detail-oriented, highly motivated and self-starter.
Proven capacity to excel in a fast-paced, multifaceted, team environment.
Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment and interact with individuals at all levels in the organization.
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Education and Certification
Post-Secondary education in business or related field required or equivalent relevant experience.
Valid Driver’s License
Valid passport (for travel to corporate head office in US)

Compensation Range for the Position:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 CAD
Offer amount determined by experience and review of internal talent.
