Boston Dynamics is seeking an Assembler to join our Operations team as we build the world’s most advanced robots.  Every day, you will work hands-on with our Spot Robot by working closely with your Operations team. You will use work instructions, drawings, and various tools to ensure our robots are produced on schedule and with world-class quality. To thrive in this role, you must have experience assembling, repairing, reworking, and/or testing electromechanical assemblies, good communication with a team-first mentality, and be willing to take on an ever-changing list of tasks and responsibilities.

Day to day activities: 

  • Following work instructions and other assembly aids, assemble and test robots and/or robot sub-assemblies, and test sub-assemblies and finished assemblies for defects per instructions

  • Understand daily production requirements to ensure delivery expectations are met and bring to light production issues as soon as they arise

  • Follow quality, health, and safety requirements to ensure only approved processes,  tools, parts, and materials are used in production and bring to light quality concerns as soon as they arise

  • Ensure proper handling and disposition of inventory items during the assembly process

  • Execute ERP-generated work orders as required

  • Maintain a clean, well-organized work space in line with 5S standards

  • Provide input to Operations and Manufacturing Engineering on opportunities for improvement in the production process

Desired skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience following technical instructions, interpreting engineering drawings
  • Experience assembling, repairing, reworking, and/or testing electromechanical assemblies
  • Experience executing work orders within an ERP system preferred
  • Knowledge of basic Lean manufacturing concepts 
  • Experience with working on computers and using computer programs to aid assembly
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted
