The Transportation Operations and Quality Manager has a core responsibility to drive Operational Excellence across outbound logistics and product quality. This role ensures effective movement, storage, compliance, and quality of finished goods through supplier management, process controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The role serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in transportation operations, quality engineering, risk mitigation, root cause analysis, and performance management. The candidate will collaborate closely with suppliers, internal partners, and customers to ensure seamless logistics execution and robust quality assurance aligned to Intel's standards and business requirements.
This position utilizes analytical and emerging skills, including automation, statistical tools, and data driven problem solving-to support Intel's operational performance and business execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation Operations
• Manage day-to-day transportation operations for outbound finished goods, ensuring on time delivery (OTD) performance.
• Oversee logistics service providers (LSPs) for movement and final delivery of products, measured through contractual performance metrics.
• Monitor inbound/outbound flow, lead times, and capacity constraints; develop mitigation plans to prevent delays.
• Lead performance reviews and business rhythms with (LSPs) to ensure compliance with Intel requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in transportation, packaging, handling, lane design, and route optimization.
• Support ramp readiness, material availability, and transportation risk burndown for new products or volume scale.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams (Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, IT and Contract Logistics suppliers) to solve transportation operational issues and remove blockers.
• Develop Lead Logistics Provider (LLP) on Transportation Operations business/operational/stakeholder requirements.
• Drive and manage DH LLP (On Site Manager, Control Tower, On Site Supervisor) in meeting TO requirements from KPI, stakeholders, perspective.
Quality Engineering
• Ensure all outgoing products meet Intel's quality, regulatory, and customer standards using structured quality engineering methods.
• Lead and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to
o develop and maintain quality controls for outbound processes including documentation, inspection, traceability, and deviation handling.
o perform root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, DOE, FMEA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) implementation
o evaluate and qualify logistics suppliers' quality processes, including audit readiness and continuous improvement capability.
o Drive alignment to Intel's quality systems, specifications, and change management requirements.
• Use data and statistical tools to monitor quality performance, predict risks, and deploy preventive actions.
• Support improvement projects aimed at reducing defects and strengthening process robustness.
• Manage nonconformance, excursions, and customer complaints related to logistics operations
• Conduct regular quality performance review
Analytics, Automation and Emerging Capabilities
• Apply analytical tools, automation solutions, and AI enabled methods to optimize transportation reliability and quality outcomes.
• Build dashboards and KPI monitoring tools for OTIF, cost, quality performance, and supplier scorecards.
• Leverage digital solutions to improve visibility, traceability, and predictive capability.
