Job Purpose:

The Operations Manager will supervise a team of employees who use machinery or equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, inventory control and other steps along a production line.

Job Responsibilities:

● Deliver and supervise various distribution center tasks to ensure all goods and supplies are shipped, received, stored and recorded accurately following established procedures.
● Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and optimize cost effectiveness.
● Analyze the warehouse metrics and prepare reports and inventory control documents using Microsoft Office and existing systems.
● Supervise and lead a team.
● Monitor and adjust employee schedules and workloads to enhance efficiencies and ensure high-priority tasks are achieved.
● Participate in the hiring process and management of distribution center staff.
● Ensure the highest level of customer service is being executed and develop methods to improve the quality of service for all employees, vendors and suppliers.
● Motivate and hold the team accountable for achieving local and company goals.
● Maintain a culture of safety that follows the organization's Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) policies to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to oneself and others in the workplace. Instruct the team in safe working methods and escalate serious issues as appropriate.
● Prioritize own workflow and ensure work is completed to the required standards and regulatory codes of productivity, quality and timeliness; use performance management systems to improve personal performance.
● Perform additional duties as required.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Salary Range: 83-87K

• Plans, coordinates, and supervises the work activities of warehouse functions (directly and through the team lead), including, picking, loading, and delivery.

• Develops and implements specific objectives and performance measures for each functional area and individual to improve performance.

• Interprets, understands and acts on individual and collective performance and quality data.

• Leads selection and hiring of new warehouse employees; evaluates employee performance; develops and implements action plans for improving all employees.

• Ensures that all warehouse clerks, administrative staff, and warehouse workers, and drivers receive proper training and skills development.

• Adheres to and enforces the performance expectations and resolves all disciplinary and performance issues through following the proper procedures.

• Makes recommendations for and implements improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of the warehouse operations.

• Oversees the preparation and loading of trucks for shipments and delivery of orders in conformance with company procedures and customer instructions.

• Maintains and controls the physical condition of the warehouse and delivery equipment, supplies, security, facilities, grounds, et cetera.

• Manages and controls warehouse expenses and capital.

• Ensures compliance with company and government policies and regulations (e.g., Safety, OSHA, HazMat, DOT).

• Participates in group and regional distribution projects.

• Implements company policies and procedures according to company guidelines for assigned areas of responsibility.

• Is knowledgeable of safety work practices and performs all duties in a safe manner.  Supports division safety committee.  Ensures regular safety meetings; completes and reviews safety incident reports as necessary; recommends changes to assist in maintaining a safe working environment. 

• Plans, coordinates, and supervises the management of inbound freight expenses.

Work Experience:

Experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised Excellent leadership, customer relations and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to motivate team, manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment. Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required. Strong planning and organization skills are required.

Experience of supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited timeframes. 3+ years of successful supervisory/management experience is required. Ability to motivate and develop direct reports, as well as size up new talent.

Mangerial Experience

Education:

● High School Diploma/GED

● Associate/Bachelor's Degree Preferred
