Your role

As a Project Controller you'll guide purposeful work that supports the future of the QLD E&I Business. Collaborating with a diverse, multidisciplinary team, you’ll explore integrated solutions, offer thoughtful perspectives, and partner with clients to help them build a more sustainable world.

Aurecon’s Energy & Industrial team is experiencing significant growth, and we’re looking for Project Controllers to join our expanding team. This role offers exposure to the full range of project controls disciplines, with opportunities to build technical expertise and professional capability. The role is essential to supporting platinum clients and is a key function in maintaining the accuracy, timeliness and integrity of project performance data and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project set up support and coordination
  • General project controls system administration and support
  • Cost management
    • Supporting the team to develop and maintain budgets and cost baselines
    • Tracking actual cost vs budget (cost tracking and forecasting)
    • Performing variance analysis and identifying cost overruns
  • Change Control
    • Managing change control process for variations/scope change
    • Maintaining budgets and adjustments
    • Assessment of cost, schedule and resources
  • Maintaining and analysing project teams forecast and Estimates at Completion
  • Maintaining and updating progress and statusing information and deliverables
  • Maintaining and analyse Earned Value
  • Supporting the project team for fortnightly client reporting
  • Preparation of data for Month-End Performance Reporting
  • Supporting the project teams with internal governance reporting

What you’ll bring

  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • A degree in a numerate discipline (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage and analyse large, complex datasets
  • The ability to quickly learn and effectively utilise project controls systems and tools
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive approach, with a willingness to learn and openness to feedback
  • A solid understanding of internal systems such as Workday, Dynamics, and Merlin
  • Experience with Power BI for reporting and data visualisation (desirable)
  • A strong understanding of PDT (Project Delivery Tool), ensuring consistent application of project delivery processes and standards
