As an Application Engineering Technical Lead for Personal Investor, you will be responsible for some technical aspects of our implementations, improving current and future processes, exploring new features and functionality, monitoring our security footprint, analyzing data to make decisions and numerous other initiatives. 

A successful candidate is someone who exhibits curiosity, unafraid to ask questions while also able learn independently through self-research and whose technical skills and expertise can anchor more to the cloud modernized ecosystem rather than the legacy. The candidate in return will gain a tremendous understanding of the entire technical architecture of the enterprise, develop a wide network in Personal Investor (PI) and beyond and grow their breadth of technical expertise.

In this role, you will be part of:

Cross-Cutting Work

Be the Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) that understand the legacy and modernized technical ecosystem and applies that knowledge to review the cross-cutting initiatives that are distributed to PI product teams and other shared service partners. It involves working directly with the submitters of the product families, Client Experience & Digital (CXD) counterparts and domain architects to understand the effort, define a clear scope, decompose technical analysis into Jira artifacts, engineering and abstraction where needed, alongside developing a process to streamline impacted applications.

Intake Ceremony

Work that impacts PiTech is presented at the intake meeting by the project team responsible for delivering the work. Technical questions are asked during this meeting to ensure that the project is ready to proceed, and our team has all the required information for successful triage. Understanding the PiTech processes and identifying strategies to improve them is essential. You will function as the senior technical lead/architect understanding the effort level, complexity and impact to product families.

Partnerships

We closely partner with the risk team, cloud team, and incident management team to ensure projects are properly reviewed. Some items benefit from centralized solutions, which could simplify tasks for PiTech teams or eliminate the need for teams to make individual changes. We collaborate with teams such as the Cloud Engineering Team, ServiceNow, Test Data Team, MarTech, Adobe Launch Team, and others to understand the nature of their work and its impact on our process.

Additional responsibilities

  • Provide expert level IT technical lead services and direction for critical software, middleware, or hardware projects on multiple platforms. Provide technical expertise and completes complex development, design, implementation, architecture design specification, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure the viability of IT deliverables. Recommend development options and approves the team's technical deliverables. Conduct testing, including functionality, technical limitations, and security.
  • Identify potential solutions and approve technical solutions proposed by team members. Elevate complex technical issues to IT experts. Resolve technical problems discovered by testers and internal clients. Respond to and resolve technical issues in a timely manner. Research issues and perform root cause analysis. Anticipate technology problems and prevent them.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders on project issues and implications. Evaluate the impacts of change requests on technologies and effectively persuade and influence others on ideas.


What it takes:

  • Minimum of eight years related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • AWS experience preferred.
  • Understanding older web technologies such as JSPs, JSF framework, XHTML, and JavaScript.
  • Understanding mid-tier and UI development and architecture.
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python, Java, Node.js. Cloud Infrastructure templating languages like CloudFormation or Terraform is a plus.
  • Familiarity with tools like Docker.
