Technical Architect (L8): The Technical Architect role is responsible for defining the end to end technical architecture, guiding migration strategies (retain, rehost, refactor, rebuild, replace), and ensuring platform stability, security, and compliance throughout the transition. The architect works closely with business stakeholders, application owners, infrastructure teams, security, vendors, and delivery leads to enable predictable, low risk cutovers and successful post separation operations.
Core Experience
10+ years of experience in technical architecture, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture roles.
Proven experience delivering carve out, divestiture, or large scale migration programs.
Strong background in application modernization, ERP ecosystems, and complex enterprise landscapes.
Hands on experience with multi wave migration planning and execution.
Architecture & Solution Design
Define target state technical architecture for carve out programs, including applications, integrations, data, infrastructure, identity, and security.
Assess current state (as is) landscapes and design separation ready architectures aligned to business and regulatory requirements.
Define migration patterns and standards for clone, convey, rehost, rebuild, greenfield, and retain scenarios.
Create and maintain architecture blueprints, technical design documents, and transition architectures.
Carve out & Migration Execution
Lead technical design and execution across application migration waves, ensuring minimal business disruption.
Define and govern data migration, data separation, redaction, and archival strategies.
Oversee integration remediation, including decoupling shared services, middleware, APIs, and batch interfaces.
Support cutover planning, mock runs, and go live readiness from a technical standpoint.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP) and hybrid architectures.
Experience with integration platforms, APIs, middleware, and messaging systems.
Knowledge of data migration, ETL, master data, and reporting separation.
Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, environment management, and non functional requirements.
Architecture & Methodologies
Experience using architecture frameworks
Strong grasp of non functional requirements – performance, scalability, resiliency, and security.
Ability to design transition architectures and phased migration roadmaps.
Soft Skills
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to operate in high ambiguity, high risk environments.
Decisive, structured thinker with a strong bias for execution and risk mitigation.
