Job Summary

Job Summary
Learn through paid on the job training how to repair mold equipment by utilizing various tools, and equipment to specification. Attend, and pass related outside instruction through CCC, BOCES with all education costs paid or reimbursed by Anchor Glass including missed worktime. Moldmakers work Monday through Friday straight shifts (non swing), and every third weekend.

MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Learn the following under journeyman supervision, then execute with minimal oversight in a term of four years, and a minimum of 8k hours.

  • Weld, grind, file, and polish mold components.
  • Operate manual lathes, mills, and surface grinders.
  • Operate CNC lathes.
  • Inspect and verify dimensions using gauges, and precision measurement tools.
  • Setup and Repair mold equipment for various jobs.
  • Revise mold equipment to new spec using various tools, patterns.
  • Work with minimal supervision

EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with SUNY college credits preferred.
  • Must pass standard Mechanical, and Mathematical comprehension tests.
  • Good Job performance, and Attendance history.
  • Physically able to perform job duties: consistent lifting of mold equipment, and use of hand tools.
