Position Overview

StepStone Mexico is looking for a driven, analytical, insightful individual that can work independently and has flexibility to complete projects based on urgency and/or deadline. The person should be fluent in English and Spanish, have a solid understanding of investment, private equity markets, Mexican private market structures (CERPIs/CKDs) and capital markets, as well as strong financial modeling skills, research capabilities and writing and translation skills. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Research local investments and investor markets to find opportunities for business development.
  • Participate in the structuring of private market investments (private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and private debt) through publicly listed vehicles tailored to the needs of specific investors.
    • For instance, participate in the securitization of private debt access including complex financial modeling, which may include SWAPs, and negotiate and interact with local credit rating agencies.
  • Elaborate investor presentations and marketing decks.
  • Build complex financial models to forecast returns to investors and product economics.
  • Complete RFPs, DDQs and RFIs on an as needed basis.
  • Review private and public offering documents and legal agreements (Mexican trusts, IMAs, LPAs, etc.).
  • Translate financial information and investment summaries from English to Spanish and vice versa.
  • Participate in client pitches and presentations.
  • Become proficient in current vehicles/offerings and interact with third-party providers of such vehicles to solve and/or answer issues/questions.
  • Update pipeline on Salesforce (no experience needed)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, accounting, economics, or business preferred.
  • MBA, CFA, or masters degree desired / CAIA and other certifications will be considered.
  • Four or more years of related financial services experience required in investment banking, M&A origination and execution or corporate finance. Understanding of CERPIs, CKDs, securitizations, mutual funds, and other publicly listed vehicles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish (writing sample required).
  • Strong financial modeling skills (sample model required).
  • Strong research skills (case study required).
  • Follow up skills and acute attention to accuracy and detail are essential.
  • Highly motivated individual with demonstrated initiative, independence and adaptability, teamwork and leadership skills that prefers to work in a collegial environment.
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage time in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Individual must handle himself/herself in a professional and mature way and must be capable to generate rapport with his/her teammates, third-party providers, and clients.
  • Strong sense of honesty and transparency, focusing on our clients’ requirements and objectives; therefore, he/she will act and think as a fiduciary in every instance.
