The Opportunity

This position works out of our Zona Franca Coyol Alajuela location in the Structural Heart Division. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.

As the Quality Systems Training Engineer I, you’ll have general supervision, this role ensures the effective administration, coordination, and continuous improvement of training systems and processes. It is responsible for managing the Learning Management System (LMS) or equivalent platform, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the implementation and tracking of employee training programs. The position actively identifies opportunities for quality improvement, resolves system-related issues, and contributes to the standardization of training practices across the organization. This position could support both locally and across multiple sites within the division.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain employee learning maps, ensuring alignment with the most current versions of applicable Quality Management System (QMS) documents.

• Oversee training planning, execution, and documentation in coordination with area managers, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

• Support Quality Systems activities to evaluate compliance to the requirements of FDA, MDSAP, and other regulatory bodies applicable to the Quality Management System.

• Manage the LMS or equivalent platform audience structure to maintain standards among current and future Value Streams and support areas.

• Coordinate and maintain the Quality New Hire Orientation material and presentation to ensure consistent onboarding experiences.

• Manage and prepare LMS or equivalent platform reports for due trainings, audits, exceptions, investigations, among others.

• Provide support to divisional and multi-site requests, facilitating alignment and standardization of training practices across the organization.

• Reviews training plans, pre- and post-release tasks in Windchill system as required.

• Ensure adherence to departmental and company SOPs and Work Instructions, promoting a culture of compliance and accountability.

• Implement the deployment of new courses within the LMS, including the creation of learning activities, audience assignments, and system properties, while executing testing protocols to ensure flawless implementation.

• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement within the training system, contributing to operational efficiency and system optimization.

• Perform other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree Or Having successfully covered at least 90% of the curriculum at the University to obtain Engineering or Business Administration degree and is currently studying and 2 years previous experience in quality or training related areas, (Engineering, Psychology, Business Administration, or other similar area).

0 - 1 year of work experience

Proficiency in computer applications (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Power BI).

Knowledge of Learning Management System or equivalent platform and Windchill System.

Intermediate Commands of English / Required

Preferred Qualifications

Experience on Training Management System is highly desired.

At least 1 year experience in medical device industry is a plus.

At least 1 year of experience participating on ISO 13485 or ISO 9001 audits and/or FDA inspections is a plus.
