Join Checkly as a Senior Product Engineer and empower developers to own and ensure application performance and reliability - from pull request to post-mortem!

Checkly is the leading synthetic monitoring platform helping Engineers at Linkedin, Citibank, Render, Vercel and over 1000 other companies to build reliable products by unifying testing, monitoring and observability. OpenTelemetry, Playwright, and Monitoring as Code are our foundation for unifying performance and reliability.

Our tech stack is Claude Code, Vue.js, TypeScript, Golang, Postgres, ClickHouse and AWS. We ship to prod all day, every day. We practice Agile (not scrum) and take pride in good documentation and good looking products.

We’re a remote-first startup that keeps things simple—low on meetings, high on productivity, and always shipping. If you love building cool things, working async, actually listening to and working with customers, and keeping it lean, you’ll fit right in!

In 2024, we raised $20M in Series B funding from Balderton, CRV, and Accel to take things to the next level.

What you'll do

Build and ship with AI as a force multiplier

You’ll actively use coding agents for full stack development. From exploring solutions and generating scaffolding, to refactoring, test generation, and debugging. At Checkly we push the limits of AI tools every day.

Identifying the right problems to solve

In a world where the cost of building software will be 0, you’ll focus on real-world developer pain: flaky checks, unclear failures, noisy alerts to help build reliable applications and services. You’ll favor pragmatic solutions that ship quickly, validate assumptions in production, and compound into long-term reliability improvements.

Engaging with users

You’ll talk directly to developers who are on-call, debugging incidents, or wiring Checkly into production pipelines. You will understand their workflows, pain points, and feedback. You use these conversations to validate ideas, course-correct early, and iterate on what you build. Customer calls and giving our users support on the weekly support rotation is an essential part of the job.

Own work end-to-end

From shaping the initial idea, through implementation and rollout, to watching how it behaves in production. You’ll take part in on-call and help support customers when things don’t work as expected.

What you should have

Experience Shipping Features with AI

You shipped features with a relevant tech stack from 0 to 100. You made good implementation decisions with successful outcomes. You shipped reliable projects with user impact.

Experience building and running production software

You’ve worked on systems that real users depend on. You’re familiar with the realities of operating software in production: edge cases, incidents, regressions, and the need for observability and follow-up.

You’re not surprised when things break but you help fix them.
