Position Summary
Conventional
The Senior Buyer procures materials and services in a timely manner at the most efficient cost to fulfill customer commitments and achieve company KPI’s.
Essential Functions/Key Deliverables
· Manage end to end procurement of aluminum and related raw materials and services. Accurately enter all requisitions / purchase orders in the system on time, submit accurate orders to suppliers, and obtain written acknowledgements from suppliers.
· Gather quotations, examine bids, review contracts, negotiate pricing & contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority, and make recommendations for awards.
· Analyze material consumption trends and forecast accuracy to refine ordering strategies.
· Monitor supplier performance against contractual volume commitments, on time delivery, and quality.
· Work with all necessary departments to ensure spending budgets are achieved while maintaining necessary stock to deliver on our KPIs.
· Monitor and reduce on-hand inventories. Analyze inventory levels. Prepare reports for excess and obsolete management.
· Resolve supply disruptions, quality and invoice issues, and delivery discrepancies.
· Prepare reports for leadership summarizing price, performance, forecast reliability, and supply risks.
· Make tactical buying decisions. Execute on corporate sourcing programs and ensure compliance to all purchasing protocols.
· Perform other tasks reasonably commensurate with the role, as needed.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree and/or significant experience in a related field.
· 5+ years of experience in a Procurement or Finance role ideally in the manufacturing industry.
· Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and organization
· Ability to function both independently and as part of a team; must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization
· Experience managing multiple vendors and assignments in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong critical-thinking skills with a solution-oriented mindset
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, especially use of Excel for writing formulas and pivot tables. SAP experience helpful.
