Position Summary

  • General Description:
  • Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting in the operations of the home infusion pharmacy, which may include sterile compounding, dispensing, scheduling, DME management, performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and other duties as assigned.
  • Customer Service:
  • Coordinates and facilitates new referrals as assigned
  • Reviews and enters all new patient orders and documents appropriately in EPIC electronic medical record system
  • Communicates and collaborates with physicians, nurses, patients, families, and other team members to provide quality care for the patient
  • Maintains thorough and appropriate documentation in the patient record of all activities and communications with and regarding the patient
  • Coordinates patient care and performs patient follow-up within the appropriate timeframe as assigned by pharmacists
  • Preparing & Filling Prescriptions:
  • Coordinates and participates in the dispensing of all medications, related supplies, and equipment in accordance with federal, state, and local laws related to overall compliance with USP <797>
  • Tracks and confirms deliveries
  • Processes and picks all medications, supplies and equipment prior to dispensing from pharmacy
  • Demonstrates efficiency in using the dispensing system as appropriate
  • Maintains pharmacy records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations


Required Qualifications

  • Valid pharmacy technician license as required by the Board of Pharmacy in the state employee
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and verbally
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and promote a positive team environment
  • Must be able to meet physical demands which will include lifting of up to 35 lbs and repetitive squatting and bending during cleaning activities
  • You will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as an essential function of this role 


Preferred Qualifications

  • General knowledge of drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, drug use, and aseptic technique
  • 1+ year previous sterile compounding experience 


Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$17.00 - $25.65

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
