POSITION SUMMARY

The Commercial Analytics & AI (CAAI) China team is responsible for the delivery of services that require secondary data analysis across business units (BU) to provide strategic recommendations on performance review, brand planning, operation planning, promotional resource allocation, field force sizing, segmentation/targeting, structural decisions, and digital strategies, etc.  The team delivers the services by leveraging the central expertise and existing tools, or by building simple to intermediate analysis locally. 

Sr. Performance Manager role is to report to Analytics CoE Lead, and is expected to lead xBU level analytics to support performance KPI development and tracking, competitive intelligence development, and other China strategic opportunity evaluation and analytics support. He/She will also coordinate CAAI / ISE collaboration on corporate level analysis, as well as partner with other xFunction team.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Performance Analysis

  • Provide analytical insights support to the market and recommend, define and implement unique and innovative business analytics plans that generate insights and influence business priorities and objectives
  • Lead company level performance analysis on sales performance, access status tracking, promotion activities analysis, as well as external market trend analysis on growth drivers and EI, with country leadership.
  • Conduct primary market research, secondary analytics and advanced analytics to answer business questions.
  • Manage and collect competitive intelligence, benchmark analysis, and or other qualitative / quantitative analytics to answer business questions.

Forecasting/Operating Plan Support

  • In partnership with key Pfizer stakeholders, support the development of Long Range Forecasts (LRFs) and Operating Plans.
  • Coordinate forecasting activities with local in-country, Global BAI, and Forecasting CoE colleagues.
  • Qualify and quantify business opportunities, including communicating results and recommendations.
  • Ensure accurate and effective performance measurement and deliver regular assessments of portfolio performance to leadership, including clear articulation of the data and its meaning for the business.

xBU Analytics Support on Critical Business Decisions

  • Lead and drive cross BU level analytical support such as but not limited to: VBP analysis, Launch Excellence, Market Intelligence,  Performance Data Visualization, GTM Transformation, etc.
  • Coordinate within BAI group for cross BU analytics support for most collective advantages

Vendor/Offshore Resource Management

  • Develop, commission and contract projects through preferred vendors
  • Accountable for meeting compliance and Corporate SOP obligations of all PMR projects
  • Manage budgets associated with assigned activities
  • Direct workload of flexible resources
  • Be accountable for continuous improvement and identification/utilization of new capabilities to maximize the competitive advantages of the business

Collaboration with other Analytical team

  • Partner with other category colleagues and local analytical teams to adapt global strategies to the local markets
  • Actively seek to share knowledge and expertise with other colleagues making use of knowledge sharing platform Alignment with other CAAI teams (CoEs/other Country teams) to ensure cohesive activities with our stakeholders

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Masters in analytic discipline/ statistics preferred

Qualifications / Experience:

  • 5+ years of commercial, strategy and/or research/analytics experience, experience with budget and resource allocation management

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Significant hands-on experience analyzing large pharmaceutical secondary datasets (sub national level, payer, patient / longitudinal, call activity)
  • Fluency in English is preferable

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidates should have strong quantitative and computer skills, strategic and analytics thinking; employers prefer workers who have completed advanced math courses including statistics, forecasting, etc;
  • Individuals with a master's degree in operations research or management science should have excellent employment prospects; entry-level positions are available to those with a bachelor’s degree;
  • Proven ability to connect, integrate and synthesize analysis and data into a meaningful ‘so what’ to drive concrete strategic recommendations and enable commercial decision making. Capable of describing relevant caveats in data or in a model and how they relate to business question.
  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point and preferable with visualization tool using experience such as Tableau
  • Good command of English both in oral and written.
