Location: Quebec Province, ideally local to Montreal. 

Job Overview: The SAP Functional Team Leader will be responsible for leading and managing a cross-functional team specializing in key SAP modules, including MM, WM/QM, PP, SRM/Ariba, Supplier Portal/SUS, SD, GTS After Market, IBP/APO/FSM, MRO/PM, and iMRO. This role is critical in ensuring the successful execution of both project-based and day-to-day support activities. The Team Leader will drive operational efficiencies, foster strong relationships with business stakeholders, and collaborate with client IT teams to address challenges effectively.


The ideal candidate has extensive experience in SAP systems and functional processes and possesses exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management

  • Lead a diverse team of SAP functional experts, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, identify skill gaps, and implement training plans to enhance team capabilities.

2. Implement Efficiencies and Process Improvements

  • Analyze existing workflows and identify areas for optimization to improve team productivity and delivery quality.
  • Drive the implementation of best practices and innovative solutions in SAP processes to ensure alignment with business objective

3. Oversee Planning and Execution of Projects

  •  Work with PM on project activities, ensuring timely and successful delivery of SAP initiatives.
  • Define project scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and ensure alignment with customer requirements.

4. Oversee Planning and Execution of Day-to-Day Support

  • Ensure the team addresses operational issues and delivers support promptly and efficiently.
  • Monitor support tickets, prioritize tasks, and implement effective resolution processes to maintain business continuity.

5. Oversee Team Workload

  • Manage team workloads to ensure a balanced distribution of responsibilities and prevent resource burnout.
  •  Monitor resource utilization and adjust assignments to optimize performance across the team.

6. Ensure Accurate Time Tracking

  • Implement and enforce time-tracking practices to ensure accurate reporting of hours worked.
  • Analyze time data to assess team efficiency and identify areas for improvement in resource utilization.

7. Primary Point of Contact for Business Stakeholders and Client IT Teams

  • Serve as the primary interface between the SAP functional team, business stakeholders, and the client’s IT team.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide tailored SAP solutions.
  • Communicate project status updates, support issues, and process improvements clearly and effectively.

8. Collaborate with Account Lead to Address Escalations

  •  Work closely with the account leadership team to resolve escalated issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  •  Proactively address potential conflicts and provide strategic recommendations to mitigate risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, Supply Chain, or related field. An MBA or master’s degree is advantageous.
  • At least 8–10 years of experience in SAP functional areas, including leadership roles.
  •  Comprehensive knowledge of SAP modules such as MM, SD, WM/QM, PP, SRM/Ariba, IBP, and PM.
  •  Proven track record of managing teams in a global environment.
  • Experience in handling both project delivery and application management support.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills focus on fostering a high-performing culture.
  •  Proven track record of successful SAP project delivery (both on time and on budget) and leading a support team in an SAP Application Management Services support contract.
  • Understanding of SAP systems and functional processes across multiple modules.
  •  Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Certification in PMP, SAP modules, or similar credentials is preferred.

Work Environment

  • This Role requires candidates to stay in Quebec Province, ideally local to Montreal.
