The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day manufacturing & production planning within the temperature sensor manufacturing facility. This role ensures that products are produced efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining a safe and productive working environment. The Operations Manager will lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, optimise workflow, and ensure customer delivery commitments are met.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production & Manufacturing Management

  • Oversee daily production operations to ensure on-time delivery and high-quality output.
  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor production schedules, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO and customer-specific quality standards.

2. Supply Chain & Inventory Control

  • Manage procurement, inventory levels, and supplier relationships to ensure material availability and cost control.
  • Coordinate logistics and dispatch to meet customer deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain effective inventory tracking and control systems.

3. Quality & Compliance

  • Work closely with the Quality Department to ensure products meet regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Support audits, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
  • Promote and enforce company policies for health, safety, and environmental compliance.

4. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop production and operations staff to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee training programs and ensure cross-training for operational flexibility.

5. Strategic & Financial Management

  • Contribute to business planning and budgeting activities.
  • Monitor operational KPIs (efficiency, cost, quality, delivery) and drive performance improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimisation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, 10 years’ experience Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in operations or production management, ideally in sensor manufacturing, precision engineering, or electronics assembly.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent), and lean principles.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
