Job Description

About the Role

As Support Technician, you will provide support for all technologies within a Distribution Center or corporate environment. You will identify, troubleshoot, and remediate issues that arise, take ownership of all IT building-related incidents and monitor system activity to ensure the availability and performance of all Kohl’s IT business services.


 

What You’ll Do

  • Resolve first-level service calls in accordance with procedural and security standards and log and track issues using an automated Service Management System

  • Assist in the investigation of issues and deliver appropriate remedy and response

  • Follow established operational processes and procedures and use the tools available to respond to identified performance issues

  • Maintain knowledge of production system resolution procedures and ensure readiness to execute by reviewing knowledge base entries

  • Monitor system activity and inform the team of any perceived trends in received calls 

  • Create and monitor vendor service calls

  • Develop an understanding and knowledge of Kohl’s operating environments, policies and procedures

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance and provide support in the development and maintenance of operational procedures

  •  , set up and test new hardware, peripherals and software and administer asset inventory management

  • Additional tasks may be assigned


 

What Skills You Have

Required

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Basic technical understanding of the various hardware, software and networking systems

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred

  • Two-year degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Previous IS experience.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; and establishing personal networks
