As a Medical and Scientific Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring adequate therapy area input, maximised leveraging of existing Medical platforms, and aligned implementation of Medical Affairs processes and initiatives across the Medical organisation. You will also be responsible for delivering high quality & tailored external engagements across the healthcare system & through strategic medical partnerships to develop insight and understanding of the value of our medicines now and in the future.

As a Medical and Scientific Advisor and acting as a Final Medical Signatory, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of our medical content and materials. Working within a dynamic and collaborative environment, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our communications adhere to regulatory guidelines while effectively conveying the benefits and risks of our products.

In this role you will

  • Represent business voice, leverage Medical platforms, and lead implementation and support for Medical Affairs processes and projects launched across Global Medical Affairs (GMA) and regions (e.g. Medical Science Liaison practices, Medical Excellence, etc.)
  • Uphold the highest compliance standards & provide authoritative opinion on medical and ethical matters to support colleagues across GSK, enabling the evidence- based use of GSK medicines and compliance with the relevant statutory requirements (e.g. ABPI Code of Practice, Medicines Act, and EU Directives).
  • Responsible for conducting medical review and ABPI Code signatory examination and certification of materials
  • Deliver high quality & tailored external engagement across the healthcare system, in line with the requirements of the NHSE/NICE Antimicrobial Subscription Model & through strategic medical partnerships to develop insight and understanding of the value of our medicines now and in the future.
  • Writing of GSK’s response to complaints from bodies such as the PMCPA or MHRA – this will typically involve engaging with members of the extended brand team e.g. brand manager, regulatory affairs manager.
  • Provide leadership, advice and coaching on how to work compliantly in the execution of UK Pharma Digital Engagement initiatives in order to deliver UK Digital Driven customer experience (DDCx ).
  • Support creation & delivery of the Medical Digital & Technology plan for Omnichannel.
  • Act as formal mentor & coach to new signatories/signatories in training. - if on approved UK list 
  • Lead, or provide input into, updating and or development of SOPs 

Why you?

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Experience working as a nominated Final Signatory or commensurate experience working in copy approval under the ABPI guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • A GMC-registered doctor or GPhC-registered pharmacist who is able to be a nominated final signatory
  • Effective communication skills
  • Relevant therapy area knowledge desirable but not essential
  • A good understanding of the changing UK health care environment, including understanding of health technology assessments and market access challenges in the UK
  • Broad Pharmaceutical industry experience or equivalent desirable
  • Proactive, self- motivated, self-reliant.
