About the Role

As a Sr Development Manager in the Performance team, you will be leading hardworking, passionate, and ambitious software engineers developing sophisticated services to drive scalable, performant and resilient services to our customers. Collaborating with technical architects and product managers, QA, automation, agility, you will drive the delivery of innovative features crafted to meet the immense needs of performance test engineers at our company.  One of your key objectives will be to accelerate solution delivery while safeguarding the high quality our company expects.
 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of software engineers in the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions.

  • Determine project scope, objectives, and timelines, and ensure successful implementation of software development projects.

  • Collaborate closely with teams from various departments, such as product management, quality assurance, and platform services, to drive product excellence.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to foster their professional growth and ensure their success.

  • Strategically communicate and influence partners, peers, management and the team on key decisions.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to continuously enhance the quality and performance of our software products.

  • Improve service health and performance through a data-driven approach.

About You

Are you an experienced software development professional looking for an exceptional opportunity to be a senior leader in a dynamic engineering organization? Look no further! Workday Performance and Scalability Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Manager to join our world-class engineering team in Pleasanton, California.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team with 5+ engineers
  • 5+ years OO software design and development experience
  • 5+ years of experience guiding development teams using Agile development methodologies
  • 5+ years of experience leading the software development lifecycle of a complex technology organization
     

Other Qualifications

  • You have a 4-year degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • A deep understanding of tools software development lifecycle
  • A track record of ensuring that features meet requirements
  • You are motivated by helping your team with career growth and personal development
  • You are passionate about delivering innovative technical solutions to meet client needs
  • You are both strategic and detail oriented


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $200,000 USD - $300,000 USD


 

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $163,400 USD - $300,000 USD
