Job Description

You are a user experience researcher that enjoys making applications, services, and processes simple. You are familiar with usability and user experience principles and can apply them to technical topics. You have experience conducting user research and usability studies. Areas such as accessibility, logistics management, infrastructure, and mobility, are familiar to you. As an individual contributor, you will work with a geographically dispersed team of project managers, service lifecycle managers, executives, UX designers and engineers to support the design of forms, applications, services, and systems. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new and existing interfaces, forms and applications that support customer processes, make recommendations and implement solutions to improve the user experience.  
  • Conduct usability studies, user research and testing on existing and new applications. 
  • Analyze user feedback and activity to iterate and enhance the user experience of products.  
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to create user-friendly applications. 
  • Create written findings reports around user research and best practices justifying recommendations and design decisions for upper-level leadership and present in large client settings. 
  • Design and develop wireframes using industry-standard tools. 
  • Focus on improving and growing the user experience function, including but not limited to developing templates, a methodology, personas, and processes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. 
  • Experience as a UX Designer, Usability Analyst, User Researcher, or similar role. 
  • Strong background of customer service and working with multi-functional teams. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple research projects simultaneously.  
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices. 
  • Expertise in user research methods, including qualitative and quantitative techniques. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights. 
  • Experience in applying research findings to enhance user experiences across various platforms 
  • Experience with user testing platforms like UserTesting, Lookback, or Optimal Workshop. 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present research findings clearly and advocate for user needs. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Power BI) for documentation, presentations, and team collaboration. 

Clearance Required: U.S. Citizen with Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry recognized UX certifications 
  • Working knowledge of accessibility, WCAG, Section 508 
  • Experience working with SAFe Agile teams 
  • Experience working with SAP Fiori apps and Microsoft Power Apps 
  • Experience with design systems and understanding of how research informs design consistency and scalability. 
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, PowerBI, R, or Python.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
