The Europe Transportation Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing inbound and outbound transportation flows across S+N European GDCs to ensure timely and cost-effective replenishment of markets. This role coordinates daily transport operations, collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, and drives continuous improvement in service, cost, and sustainability. Resilience and sustainability of these flows are imperative to prevent logistic backlogs and serve our customers On-Time-In-Full. This role is critical to manage the day-2-day operations in Europe.
What will you be doing?
Plan, coordinate, and manage inbound and outbound transportation flows across European distribution hubs.
Ensure efficient replenishment of markets by monitoring shipment execution, lead times, and service levels.
Act as the primary point of contact for carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers.
Track and resolve transport disruptions, delays, and capacity constraints, ensuring minimal impact on supply.
Optimize transport routes, modes, and consolidation opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
Monitor transport KPIs (OTIF, lead time, cost, utilization) and prepare regular performance reports.
Collaborate closely with Supply Planning, Warehouse Operations, Customer Service, and Procurement teams.
Ensure compliance with European transport regulations, customs requirements (where applicable), and internal policies.
Support tenders, carrier performance reviews, and contract management activities..
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to transportation efficiency, digitalization, and sustainability.
Develop and implement tools and SOPs to ensure that European locations can execute accordingly to European and global transportation agreements.
What will you need to be successful?
3+ years of experience in transportation management, logistics operations, or supply chain roles, preferably in a European network.
Strong understanding of inbound and outbound transport flows, hub-and-spoke models, and market replenishment.
Strong understanding of freight forwarding in all major modes (Air, Ocean, Rail, Road, Parcel).
Knowledge of European transport regulations and cross-border logistics.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Good facilitation skills with the ability to operate effectively at all levels within the organization and foster collaboration and communication across diverse global, regional and cross-functional teams.
Energetic and dynamic with a strong work ethic, capable of thriving in a fast paced and complex environment.
Passion for continuous process improvements.
Experience working with SAP and TMS systems and advanced Excel or data analysis tools.
