The Lead, Actuarial Development Programs will play a key role supporting the MBPS Actuarial Leadership team with responsibility for driving initiatives that enhance the development and success of our junior actuarial staff. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the careers of emerging actuarial professionals while gaining exposure to senior actuarial leadership and contributing directly to the growth of one of the largest actuarial teams in the region. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to work collaboratively with cross functional stakeholders at different levels, manage competing priorities, and foster a high performing culture.

Position Responsibilities: 

Actuarial Academy, Preparatory Program, and Internships:

  • Act as the hiring manager and mentor for successful candidates of the MBPS Actuarial Academy, Preparatory Program, and Internship Program
  • Lead the hiring manager interview and candidate selection process for entry level hires on behalf of the business
  • Liaise with Talent Acquisition to coordinate the participation of the Actuarial function at campus events

Actuarial New Hire Training Committee:

  • Oversee centralized actuarial trainings and program orientation
  • Encouraged to introduce innovative approaches and topics to training and development, leveraging technology and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with functional leaders to align development programs with business objectives and evolving skill requirements
  • Focus on building community & accelerating the technical development of actuarial students

Actuarial Training Program:

  • Support the Head of Actuarial Services in updating the Actuarial Training Program Manual while keeping track of Member exam progress and ongoing eligibility
  • Coordinate Semi-annual Actuarial Rotations by working with Program members and Actuarial leadership to manage the collection of rotation preferences, role selection, communication of results, and transition planning

ASP / SOA Events: Liaise with L&D and TA partners to coordinate participation of the Actuarial function for industry events

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years relevant experience in actuarial and/or program management roles
  • Demonstrated leadership experience leading projects, small teams, or mentoring junior staff
  • Comfortable with cross-functional communication, collaboration, and engaging stakeholders up to the management level
  • Progress towards, or completion of, an internationally recognized actuarial certification preferred
  • Amenable to work UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City)
  • Amenable to work on a hybrid set-up (3x a week onsite)
