The Medical Communications and Content Solutions, Category Team Lead within the Global Medical Communications and Content Solutions (MCCS) team in the Global & US Medical Communications and Content (MCC) Organization is responsible for leading a team of medical content developers within a specific therapeutic area, accountable for creating global medical content for Pfizer therapeutic areas and medicines, including abstracts, manuscripts, congress posters/presentations, graphical abstracts, systematic literature reviews, plain language summaries, slide decks, medical education resources, social media, infographics, video, multi-media and other types of external-facing medical content.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of medical content developers within a specific therapeutic area (Internal Medicine, Specialty Care, Vaccines, Oncology) to develop all relevant medical affairs content, including abstracts, manuscripts, congress posters/presentations, graphical abstracts, systematic literature reviews, plain language summaries, slide decks, medical education resources, social media, infographics, video, multi-media and other types of external-facing medical content.
  • Ensure training on relevant tools and processes, including new generative AI technology platforms, that ensure efficient and compliant execution of all medical affairs content.
  • Provide strategic leadership, insights, and drive solutions for MCCS expansion, upskilling, and capability building.
  • Drive team to deliver all required activities within expected timelines and on budget while adhering to all quality and compliance requirements for medical content.
  • Proactively train and mentor team members to ensure delivery and accuracy of all assigned medical content activities.
  • Contribute to global medical content plan development and drive execution within assigned therapeutic area(s) to ensure content excellence.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with cross- functional teams through engagement with medical content teams, including scientific publication committee teams, congress working teams, digital channel content teams and generative AI working groups.
  • Monitor and communicate metrics to evaluate progress and impact of all medical content creation activities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on a breadth of medical content types, stay abreast of industry best practices / trends, and drive innovation for cutting-edge medical communication strategies including digital, dynamic, interactive, and modular formats.
  • Serves as functional subject matter expert (publications & innovative medical content) and role model for MCCS team.
  • Enhance external Pfizer leadership & presence at industry-leading medical affairs, medical content / publications conferences, driving innovation and functional excellence.

Basic Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific doctoral degree, (eg, PhD, PharmD, MBBS/MD)
  • 8+ years experience in pharmaceutical medicine, including medical affairs, medical compliance, and management experience.
  • Proven leadership in managing people and projects both directly and via a matrixed or indirect leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to quickly build rapport and credibility with Pfizer leaders and key external stakeholders cross culturally/regionally; effective influencing and negotiating skills to guide strategic medical content development aligned with medical strategy and priorities.
  • Experience in publication planning/writing in academic settings/ communications experience within an agency, CRO, Pharma / Biotech Company.
  • Effective English verbal and written communication with flexibility to be clear, consistent, compliant, and appropriate for a variety of settings
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams / projects and engage diverse stakeholders, and understand the applications of technology to medical content development
