Summary

This role ensures that each FMS shop employee possesses the necessary skills and knowledge for their role, contributing to maintenance goals, cost control, customer satisfaction, employee growth, and overall productivity. The Technical Trainer ensures that Ryder’s training meets or exceeds internal customer expectations, enabling trainees to reduce rework, breakdowns, and external expenses. Additionally, this role drives continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency within the FMS maintenance organization.


Essential Functions

  • Administer training to all FMS shop employees.
  • Coordinate with BU leadership to identify training needs, creation of training schedule, and employee attendance to training session(s).
  • Identify, develop, and update current and new training materials and courses.
  • Update training records promptly upon course completion.
  • Monitor training facilities to ensure they provide high-quality training environments, are adequately supplied, and equipped to support world-class training. Communicate the needs of the training center to Operations Leadership.
  • Operate as catalyst for Top Technician Recognition Program to improve eligibility and participation.
  • Promote and support Safety programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, Preferred
  • H.S. Diploma/GED, Required
  • 3 years or more in Working with heavy duty trucks, tractors, trailers, refrigeration and related components (diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, power train, etc.)., Preferred
  • 1 year or more in managing people and remote personnel, Preferred
  • 2 years or more in In transportation industry, Preferred
  • 1 year or more in Prior training and development experience, Preferred

Travel

  • Yes, Greater than 80%

Salary is determined based on internal equity; internal salary ranges; market data/ranges; applicant’s skills; prior relevant experience; certain degrees or certifications, etc.

 

The salary for this position ranges from $70K to $75K. Salaries

may be supplemented with a bonus as applicable and/or as business conditions allow.

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc.

Compensation ranges for the position are below:

Pay Type:

Salaried

Minimum Pay Range:

$70K

Maximum Pay Range:

$75K

The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
