Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will report directly to the Accounting Manager and play an essential role in the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements for 20-25 veterinary practices. You will be responsible for supporting the financial operations of the practices, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with the monthly close process. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong accounting background to grow in a dynamic and collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation and possess the needed communication skills to thrive in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare and review monthly financial statements for 20-25 veterinary practices, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
· Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
· Manage prepaid schedules, recording and tracking prepaid expenses to ensure proper expense recognition.
· Record accrued liabilities and ensure all expenses are captured in the correct accounting period.
· Collaborate with the team members to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
· Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all accounts, and address any discrepancies in a proactive manner.
· Assist in the preparation of financial reports to support strategic decision-making.
· Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes, ensuring compliance and best practices are followed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
· A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting and month-end close processes.
· Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
· Proficiency in accounting softwares; experience with Sage Intacct and Workday Financials is a plus.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create spreadsheets, utilize pivot tables, and perform data analysis using formulas and functions to support financial reporting and decision-making.
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Salary Expectations: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 annual based on qualified candidates.
