Overall Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the service including computer input and update of personal lines accounts and to provide prompt, accurate and courteous service to insureds, account executives, and insurance companies regarding those accounts.
  • Responsible for the reporting and service of open claims and to provide prompt, accurate and courteous service to insureds, sales representatives, and insurance companies regarding those claims.
  • Assist Personal Lines Department in ensuring that all procedures and insurance regulations are communicated to and adhered to by all employees within department.
  • Understand and successfully use agency automation and follow all agency systems procedures and insurance company regulations.
  • Receive telephone calls and other agency referrals for new business and gather necessary information and completion of applications.
  • Maintain customer files.  Check and attach various transactions to customer files.
  • Review all incoming mail the day the mail is received and process it accordingly.
  • Review and order all necessary renewals no later than 60 days prior to expiration date.  Prepare proposals for new accounts and renewal business as needed.
  • Receive claim information regarding a loss and report the information to the insurance company the day it was received.
  • Advise the insured what processes are necessary for the settlement of the loss.
  • Follow-up with insurance companies for the timely and accurate settlement of the loss.
  • Respond to customers’ inquiries and questions regarding the status of the loss.
  • Notify management of any potential business practices that may lead to an E&O claim.
  • Attend training programs and meetings sponsored by the agency and/or companies.
  • Attend continuing education classes to ensure all hours are completed to retain insurance license.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.  Some college preferred.
  • P & C Insurance License Required
  • Experience with AMS 360 a plus.
  • Insurance experience preferred, preferably within an independent agency. 

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
