Job Description

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is a leader in energetic and non-energetic system solutions offered to aerospace, satellite and defense customers for a wide variety of applications.  EBA&D products and capabilities set the U.S. standard and are highly sought after in the international community. 

EBAD seeks a highly skilled Value Stream Technician. This position is located in Simsbury, CT.    

 

Responsibilities: 

The Value Stream Technician will perform a variety of tasks to support the manufacturing of materials used to build the energetic devices for the Linear Transfer Systems Value Stream. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Adherence to all safety standards and work instructions. 

  • Perform manufacturing operations in accordance with detailed manufacturing instructions, product drawings and quality plans. 

  • Perform coreload analysis on energetic materials. 

  • Perform in-process testing of products.

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records and documentation. 

  • Assist engineers in manufacturing process development activities under direction of the engineer’s written instructions. 

  • Support inventory maintenance of component parts and materials. 

  • Setup and maintain work cells in accordance with 5S principles. 

  • Provide feedback to engineers and supervisor for improvements. 

  • Maintain accurate, neat and complete inspection records 

  • Keep work area organized and clean and follow all established safety guidelines 

  • Work within a team structure to achieve company and department goals 

 

Requirements: 

The successful candidate must have graduated from High School or equivalent G.E.D. and 5+ years of experience, ideally within a technical field or in an aerospace or defense related company. 

 

 Required experience includes 

  • Capable of utilizing all standard inspection tools and equipment including calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, shadow graphs. 

  • Knowledge of ISO/AS procedures a plus 

  • Ability to read and interpret prints using Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T) 

  • Must be able to read and understand military specifications and industry standards 

  • Read and understand English 

  • Effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management 

  • A self-starter with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once

  • Basic PC fundamentals, knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
