ROLE SUMMARY

The Analytics Engineering team in the Global Commercial Analytics & AI (CAAI) organization serves as the backbone of our data-driven commercial organization, delivering the foundation upon which transformative insights and innovation thrive. We are looking for an experienced Analytics Developer for our International Commercial Analytics Enablement team, who will report to the Director of Analytics Development in an agile Analytics team. As a  Analytics developer, you will play a crucial role in leveraging data to drive strategic decision making and optimize commercial business performance. You will be responsible for developing, and maintaining robust analytics solutions that provide actionable insights to various stakeholders in the commercial organization, contributing directly to Pfizer’s global mission of improving Patient lives.

The team’s charter includes supporting Data Science and Insight & Strategy partner organizations across the entire data journey from Descriptive to Predictive with key responsibilities for data transformation, creation of consumption-ready data products and visualization tooling to enable the International Commercial business.

The ideal candidate is a passionate and results-oriented Analytics Developer with a proven track record of building analytics pipelines, Analytics products, and Insights for the Life Sciences and Healthcare industry.  

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

  • Implement end to end analytics solutions to support commercial business objectives, including data curation, data analysis and manipulation, visualization and deployment.
  • As part of a team, implement strategic Analytics projects sourcing and integrating data from the relevant data sources to meet the needs of a highly dynamic and data driven commercial business.
  • Build intuitive and insightful dashboards, reports and data visualization to communicate key brand performance to stakeholders and implement real-time decision support tools that provide field representatives with insights and recommendations during interactions with physicians.
  • Dive deep to investigate potential Data quality issues.
  • Collaborate with the US Analytics platform team to ensure compliance with best practices to ensure quality, accuracy and efficiency of data curation pipelines and gain alignment on using the relevant foundational data assets to power operational analytics.
  • Collaborate with our Data science, performance insights and brand facing Insights & Strategy teams to build analytics solutions for specialized Global markets and commercial business units.
  • Partner with enterprise Digital Engineering team to identify and source data from centralized data warehouses.
  • Actively contribute to Analytics team and project documentation and playbooks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical area such as computer science, engineering, IT, or related Health Sciences field.
  • 5+ years of combined Analytics data engineering, data analysis, business intelligence or analytics development experience.
  • Recent Healthcare Life Sciences (pharma preferred) and/or commercial/marketing experience industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Domain knowledge in the Life Sciences and Healthcare industry preferred.
  • Good knowledge of data quality and Governance best practices.
  • Ramp up quickly in understanding data sources required for data products and the goals of Commercial Analytics in a Pharma business.

Technical Skillset

  • Solid experience in SQL, data manipulation and Business Intelligence tooling and pipeline development.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with RDBMS/DWs and writing ETL pipelines. Experience with Snowflake and/or Airflow is desirable but not necessary.
  • Programming ability in Python, Java or other object-oriented programming languages preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Agile, SDCL, CI/CD, is preferred.
  • Experience in building data visualization tools and requirements.
  • Extensive experience working in agile setting or bring agile best-practice mentorship to the team.
  • Familiarity with data privacy standards, pharma industry practices/GDPR compliance is preferred.
  • Prioritizes excellence in Analytics development by following F.A.I.R. principles and adhering to engineering and documentation standards set for by the organization.
