About the Role

Primary Labs is looking for a full-time Associate to join the team, with a focus on healthcare incubation opportunities. This role is open to NY based candidates who are willing to work in person in NoMad 3+ days a week.

We’re exploring incubation opportunities to rebuild critical operating systems in healthcare—core processes, workflows, and data infrastructure that have remained largely unchanged for decades. This role is designed for someone with a strong analytical and problem-solving background who’s excited to unpack complex systems, build strong partnerships, identify inefficiencies, and help define what a modern, software-driven healthcare stack should look like.

In addition to deep research and incubation work, this role will play an active part in building and cultivating relationships across the healthcare ecosystem—including operators, founders, technologists, and strategic partners—to surface insights and originate new incubation opportunities. You’ll work closely with the Primary Labs team to research, model, and pressure-test ideas at the intersection of healthcare operations, technology, and data, while leveraging your network to help shape and validate concepts that could become the next generation of companies in this space.

What You'll Do

• Support Primary’s idea generation and vetting process

• Build and cultivate relationships with payors, providers, operators, founders, and strategic partners to surface insights and originate incubation opportunities

• Conduct intensive market analysis, competitive landscaping and customer research

• Develop business models, product roadmaps, and go-to-market strategies for the most promising startup ideas

• Create pitch decks and other investor materials

About You

• Self-starter: you have an entrepreneur’s intrinsic motivation, capable of independently running with business ideas with substantial ambiguity

• Network-builder: you’re comfortable developing relationships with industry leaders from the ground up

• Entrepreneurial: you are eager to engage in the venture and startup ecosystem and have your finger on the pulse when it comes to new deals and emerging business models in the AI Infrastructure landscape

• Storyteller: you’re able to learn rapidly, develop a strong point of view, and communicate compelling narratives

• Commercially-minded: you are comfortable with financial models and concepts and can quickly assess the feasibility and scalability of a new venture idea

• 4+ years of experience in consulting, banking, private equity, or healthtech startups
