JR66331 Director Sales, Japan

Director, Global Account Sales at Micron Japan Ltd has ownership and accountability for general business management and development activities specific to Micron’s strategic customers. You will be responsible for a relentless focus on design wins and revenue generation, building a deep customer relationship, understanding memory architectures, and meeting business unit expectations. Director, Global Account Sales generally manages one Global Account or leads several Accounts manager who manages regional key accounts but may be assigned more. Sales ownership is expected throughout the entire sales process.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Establish both long-term and short-term objectives for strategic customer with input and support of business unit, creating a plan for reaching those items. That plan involves assigning actions and ownership to the appropriate Micron team members.
  • Define account plan (strategies, goals and objectives) with stakeholders and coordinate internal resources for execution to the plan
  • Own account responsibility and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve account plan
  • Exhibiting and promoting Micron’s core values of People, Innovation, Tenacity, Collaboration and Customer Focus.
  • This role will require high energy and the capability to multi-task, communicate and execute exceedingly well.
  • Lead a high-performing team of OEM sales managers and team members and ensure the team have deep understanding of purpose and ownership.
  • Align corporate strategies to effectively execute the OEM sales. This requires a deep understanding of the strategic directions and strong ability to influence direction of individual business units to ensure the whole is better than the parts.
  • Ensure a great customer/partner experience and leading the business and strategy.
  • Utilize effective presentation and command skills within customer and internal meetings.
  • Proactively take responsibility for follow up on meeting actions and holds team accountable.
  • Analyze business to identify areas of strong performance and those needing improvement, furthering actions to address areas for improvement and communicate to team and measure effectiveness.
  • Develop new business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Japan key customers as sales or marketing.
  • Familiar with semiconductor memory market.
  • Shown success in a highly leveraged sales model including business development, partner management and business planning.
  • A seasoned team leader/ people manager, with the ability to motivate and provide direction to a high-performing team, as well as hire market-leading talent.
  • Exhibits sound business judgment and high integrity, a shown ability to influence others, strong analytical skills, and a track record of taking ownership, leading data-driven analyses, and influencing results.
  • A strategic leader/thinker, willing to take actions, customer focused, deal well with ambiguity, change agent, have solid planning/organizational skills, and be effective at handling systems, processes and people.
  • Working effectively with peers and cross-functionally is critical; strong people skills and organizational agility are a necessity.
  • Leadership skill
  • Excellent communication/negotiation/closing skills, solution selling/presentation abilities in English and Japanese

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of sales or marketing either in foreign semiconductor companies or in charge of foreign semiconductor customers in Japanese semiconductor companies

Education:

  • BA/BS degree in marketing, business, engineering, or other related field, Master degree would be a plus, or relevant experience
