Therapy Supply Lead supports the Regional Supply Chain Planning Director in assembling a full view of Supply Chain Issue Management and Core Commercial Cycle processes and is responsible for the consultation and communication between LOCs and the related therapies Global Sites Planning and Global Planning teams to ensure a consistent, clear direction on overcoming short-term supply chain issues (e.g. low stocks) and a consistent plan for delivering future supply chain changes.

This role will provide connectivity between the Pharma supply chains and the markets served within Emerging Markets.

Therapy Supply Lead position is a regional position specific to a therapy. There would be different Lead’s for different therapies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team leadership across the Emerging Market – Growth managinig Supply Managers & Planners for all of the Globally Imported Rx Portfolio.
  • Support the Regional Supply Planning Director to execute the Regional Performance Management (including analysis of stock-out/low-stock and impacts, KPI performance, root-causing and proposed mitigations, etc) and the S&OP process (including preparation and feedback loops to Commercial).
  • Manages the team to effectively run end to end planning system processes, including any data related activity e.g. APO, relevant ERP processes.
  • Trends on performance issues to manage supply chain risk; responsible for the management of the stock at risk register and resolutions for SKU portfolio.
  • Support an effective supply chain performance management process, including SCIM accountability (SCIM 2 and SCIM 1 through the team).
  • Manage strategic stock requirements within inventory, and identify strategic stock impacts / brokering decisions for SKU portfolio.
  • Accountable for On Time In Full (OTIF) service management for therapy and developing and driving continuous improvement projects and executing to deliver service, cost and cash benefits.
  • Recomend relevant setting of rules, boundaries, policies and replenishment models to deliver optimal service, cost and end to end inventory for SKU portfolio.
  • Accountable for making recommendations in volume allocation between sites to ensure network efficiency and customer service are maintained.
  • Managing supply into the sub-region.
  • Consult/communicate between LOC and the multiple Supply Chain Planning teams (Global, Regional and Site) to highlight any on stock-out/low-stock situations. Contact/escalation for PMs and contact/escalation for SCP to allow a more detailed impact assessment and to support prioritization.
  • Consult and communicate between Data Supply team/ LOC / W&D /  Demand Forecast Manager / Pharma Global Supply Planning Teams / Regulatory/ PSC IT teams across multiple ‘change’ processes with regards to timings, forecasts, order dates, and inventory impact:
    • NPI (New Product Introduction)
    • New Product Sourcing
    • Product Transfer
    • Pack Change
    • Allocations, Rationing
    • Sudden changes
    • System inefficiencies & failures
  • Provide a regional response and co-ordination to special processes including Product Recall, Transfers, Divestment, and Discontinuation.
  • Be responsible for the execution of the agreed standard supply chain management processes in alignment with the agreed planning calendar.
  • Drive SCIM resolution through performance management, highlighting and resolving any supply issue at SCIM Level 1 and SCIM Level 2 and keeping Commercial stakeholders informed of status and progress. Escalate any unresolved issue for resolution at SCIM (Supply Chain Issue Management) Level 4.
  • Recomends for DRP parameters (Distribution Requirements Planning) including safety stock, lead time and MOQs (Minimum Order Quantity) to ensure proper production planning and inventory management are in place.
  • Be ambassador for change management and continuous improvement across the Supply Chain to drive collaboration and partnership.

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • University graduate or relevant practical experience
  • Specialization in supply chain-related discipline, logistics, supply management, demand management, operational management
  • The role requires the individual to be highly numerate and have sound and specialist knowledge of how supply chains operate end-to-end.  Needs detailed understanding of the business environment and ability to debate complex issues with peers, seniors & colleagues
  • Experience in multiple business cycles in either or both a Commercial Sales / Marketing / Demand Forecasting / Finance operation or an end-to-end Supply Chain Planning role in a Pharmaceutical environment, preferably managing strategic therapies/brands/market
  • Sound and in-depth understanding of Supply Chain Planning through either usage and/or implementation of processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and preferably fluency in one or more additional languages appropriate to the Cluster/Region covered by the Supply Planning team.  This is Region-dependent but may include French, Spanish, Arabic, etc.
  • Strong planning ability & ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Highly numerate and good knowledge of supply chain systems and processes. Knowledge of SAP APO (Demand Planning, Supply Network Planning) is an advantage
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to increase value by raising standards & championing best practices
