In this role, you will develop and execute validation strategies, analyze test results, identify root causes, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve security vulnerabilities throughout the product lifecycle. You will support software security initiatives by designing automated, bench, and vehicle-level validation processes and helping drive DevSecOps best practices. This is a compelling opportunity to influence the cybersecurity posture of connected vehicle systems while working across multiple technologies, products, and engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and maintain cybersecurity validation plans, test cases, and test scripts for embedded vehicle systems.
  • Perform cybersecurity functional testing, fuzz testing, and penetration testing across multiple phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Analyze validation results, identify root causes, prioritize issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Review cybersecurity requirements and system functionality to ensure validation activities align with intended design and security objectives.
  • Plan and coordinate software validation schedules while managing multiple ECU validation projects simultaneously.
  • Design and implement validation processes, procedures, scripts, and best practices supporting automated, bench, and vehicle-level testing.
  • Enforce DevSecOps principles through process development, execution reviews, audits, and vulnerability management activities.
  • Review supplier and third-party test reports and partner with internal teams and suppliers to resolve identified cybersecurity issues.
  • Support external penetration testing efforts by providing tools, test environments, software, calibration, and technical expertise.
  • Produce and maintain cybersecurity work products in compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support cybersecurity risk assessment, design reviews, validation strategy improvements, and evaluation of emerging cybersecurity testing tools and methodologies.

Desired Competencies:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Security, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field as stated in the source requirements.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive or embedded systems validation.
  • Experience with code analysis, vulnerability scanning, fuzz testing, penetration testing, or related cybersecurity testing activities.
  • Knowledge of embedded vehicle control systems such as telematics, infotainment, connected features, over-the-air updates, ADAS, powertrain, chassis, or body systems.
  • Experience validating cybersecurity controls including secure boot, secure reprogramming, authentication, encryption, security access, secure diagnostics, code signing, security gateways, and IDS/IPS technologies.
  • Understanding of automotive cybersecurity regulations and standards such as ISO/SAE 21434, UNR 155/156, CRA, or similar frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, concepts, and vulnerability management practices.
  • Experience with vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, CAN FD, J1939, OBD-II, Ethernet, UDS, TCP/IP, TLS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, cellular, RF, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with cybersecurity and engineering tools such as Python scripting, Wireshark, CANalyzer, fuzzing tools, reverse engineering, debugging, or related technologies is preferred.
